Adobe x Southwest Creative Jam

Role: Product & UI/UX Designer

Timeline: 1 week (May 19-28, 2021)

Teammate: Mariam Mustafa

Tools: Adobe XD, Adobe Indesign, Figma, Notion

Adobe Creative Jam is a Design Sprint where interdisciplinary agile teams with mostly design skills get together and synergize and solve a problem within a given time frame. With a team of a maximum of three, individuals can ideate, design, prototype, and create a mockup to deliver the final product.

In the Adobe Creative Jam x Southwest , my teammate and I designed an all-in-one platform called Altitude Atlas that would be a quick book for any traveler- universally.

Overview

My design partner and I entered a 9-day creative jam challenge hosted by Adobe and SouthWest airlines.

We chose to design an app called Altitude Atlas that would also provide the user with personalized planning capacity; a laundry list of places they wanted to see and activities they wanted to do. This eliminates the initial research one has to do while planning the trip.

The Problem

Your challenge is to design a third-party tablet app that serves as an editorial experience and travel guide based on a tourists’ current location, or future destination; no matter the airline. Use technology in a future-forward way, to personalize the in-flight entertainment time for the guest.

The Solution

We chose to create an app that would not only provide tips and information, but was perfect for the avid travel lover. This app provides a personalized section in which users can save blog posts as well as potential future vacation destinations, restaurants, and attractions to their profile in a Pinterest-like manner.  Channel your inner blogger and help inspire others at the same time!

Learn from other users; learn more about your future destinations and goals.

Key Takeaways

  • Worked on quick brainstorming and ideation to create a full prototype in less than 2 weeks

  • Working with tools such as Adobe XD and Illustrator

  • Devised a full end to end user experience
